Hi, I'm Shara-Kay

15+ Years Teaching · GCSE Examiner · Former Director of Maths · Former Assistant Headteacher

I'm a secondary school maths teacher with over fifteen years of classroom experience, including several years as an examiner marking real GCSE papers. Before working directly with families, I served as Director of Maths and later Assistant Headteacher, leading departments and shaping how maths was taught school-wide.

That's given me a rare vantage point: I know the specification inside out, I know exactly what examiners reward and penalise, and I've seen first-hand why so many capable students convince themselves they're "just not a maths person." Usually, they just haven't had it explained in a way that clicks yet.

I lead every group class myself, never a rotating cast of tutors, with a maximum of six students, so I get to know how each one thinks and where they get stuck. Every year, I hear from parents whose child went from dreading maths to genuinely believing they can do it, and that shift is exactly what these classes are built around.

If you have any questions at all before booking, I'd love to hear from you, reach me through the Contact page.
